A GROUP of Dunfermline Highland dancers have made their school proud at the Valley of Strathmore Tartan Week Premierships.

Eight girls from the Allana Brown School of Dance competed in the competition last weekend, making not only their teacher but their whole dance school proud.

Allana told the Press: "Once again my students have performed so well. Their individual commitment and dedication is inspirational for all to see and they have been truly rewarded for their endeavours at the Valley of Strathmore Premierships."

Connie Urquhart, 13, Lucy Forrest, 16, Louise Barton, 22, and Brooke McAlonie, 16, scored top honours in the Premier section of the competition, while in the pre-premier section, Annelise Caines, 9, Millie Logan, 7, Layla Logan, 5 and India Baillie, 6, were successful.

Allana Brown School of Dance was also named the overall school winner and awarded the overall schools trophy.

After a successful weekend, the girls are all looking forward to their next competition. They will all be taking part in the 41st annual Forth Bridges Festival which is organised by the parents of the school.

Over 150 dance schools from near and far will be competing at the competition which will be held on Saturday, April 15, at Dunfermline High School.
