The third series of the award-winning BBC Scotland crime drama Guilt is airing this month to the excitement of fans across the country.

This is the programme's third series and is to be the last instalment as brothers Max and Jake find themselves back in Scotland where they don't receive as warm a welcome as one would hope.

The new series will contain four episodes and forms part of an Expedition and Happy Tramp North co-production with BBC Scotland and BBC Two.

How watch BBC Guilt as it returns for third series?

Guilt will air on BBC Scotland on Tuesday, April 25 from 10-11 pm. It will also air on BBC Two on Thursday, April 27 from 9-10 pm.

What is happening in series three of Guilt on BBC Scotland?

Series three of BBC's Guilt will see brothers Max and Jake return to Scotland after the pair's business in Chicago flounders.

After their money troubles take an unexpected turn, they are deported back to Edinburgh where old and new enemies emerge.

In Leith, university student Skye finds himself in deep water when he owes money to Danny and his gang. When he tries to scare them off, the plan backfires, leading to an investigation by Yvonne.

Elsewhere in the show, Teddy is managing a cannabis farm on the Scottish Borders for Maggie Lynch while Kenny tries to keep a family member out of trouble.

Sir Jim Sturrock, the Leith-born chairman of Scotland's national bank also faces a difficult choice. 

Upon arrival to the nation's capital, Max and Jake are taken to Maggie Lynch but this is the least of their problems as a more dangerous face from the past appears.

Max is played by Shetland actor Mark Bonnar while brother Jake is played by Jamie Sives.

Skye is played by Amelia Isaac Jones, Danny by Anders Hayward and Yvonne by Fantastic Beasts star Isaura Barbe-Brown.

Teddy is also played by Greg McHugh, Maggie by Phyllis Logan, Kenny by Emun Elliot and Sir Jim Sturrock by Euan MacNaughton. 

Guilt also stars Henry Pettigrew, Tamsin Toploski, Anita Vettesse and Still Game actor David Hayman.

Still Game actor Dvaid Hayman to star in new series of Guilt

Still Game actor David Hayman is starring in the third series of Guilt and is best known for roles in major films like Robin Hood, Braveheart and The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas.

Hayman appeared in the 2002 episode of Still Game titled Scran where he played an extremely hygienic fast food truck owner.

It was later revealed by Winston that his cooking was responsible for making him and his coworkers ill because of his previously poor hygiene.

Series three of Guilt will air on BBC Scotland on Tuesday, April 25 from 10 to 11 pm and be available on demand via BBC iPlayer.
