IT'S just one of many plaguing Fife roads, but assurances have been given that a large pothole in High Valleyfield causing a significant traffic hazard will be filled next week.

Councillor Graeme Downie, who highlighted the large hole on Valleyfield Avenue, has confirmed that it will be filled on Wednesday, April 19.

He told the Press: "I have spoken to Transport Officers numerous times this week to get this repaired as quickly as possible. It will now be repaired on Wednesday. It is important that is it done correctly but also that other issues at the entrance to High Valleyfield, such as the frequent flooding, are addressed as well.

"I will be picking all of that up with officers when I am in High Valleyfield to check on the repair next week as well."

For now, the large pothole has been covered and traffic is still able to access the village.
