FIREFIGHTERS are battling a blaze in Dunfermline city centre. 

It is understood that emergency services were informed of the fire at around 6.10pm this evening (Friday). 

At least three crews are currently in attendance at the scene and have closed sections of road on Maygate, St Margaret Street, Canmore Street and Guildhall Street. 

Officers from Police Scotland have also been dispatched to aid with traffic management.

Photos show smoke billowing from a property above Khushis Indian restaurant on Canmore Street. 

An eyewitness has reported the flames, which appear to have taken hold in the upper floors of the building, to have burned a large hole in the roof.

A fire previously broke out at Khushis in 2010 and was at that time believed to have started in the kitchen area of the restaurant, as reported by the Press.
