A charity 5K set up in honour of a late West Fife army captain attracted a large group of enthusiastic runners and walkers to Dunfermline's Pittencrieff Park this morning (Sunday, April 23).

The Captain David Seath Memorial Fund 5K is an annual event in support of Help for Heroes, the leading Armed Forces and veterans' charity in the UK.

Participants, young and old, ran, jogged, walked and wheeled their way around the course. First across the finishing line was Scott Steadman and his son Brodie.

Many others have been taking part in their own virtual 5K this weekend for the memorial fund, which was set up in memory of Dunfermline-born Captain David Seath.

David tragically passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest while running the 2016 London Marathon in aid of Help for Heroes.

Dunfermline Press:

Gary Seath, David's brother, and founder of the memorial fund, thanked those from the local community and beyond for continuing to support the 5K.

He said more than £350,000 had been raised since the fund was established.
