ROADS in Dalgety Bay and Crossford have been brought up to scratch as part of £1.1m of resurfacing work to have taken place across the Kingdom.

A total of £100,000 was spent at the Earl of Moray Roundabout in Dalgety Bay while £130,000 was spent on work at Crossford Main Street.

Several major works are planned for later this year which will include St Margarets Way in Rosyth.

Fife Council’s Roads and Transportation Spokesperson, Councillor Altany Craik, recently met the road resurfacing team who carried out the work in Culross.

“We have over 2,500km of roads in Fife and our roads and transportation service works hard to maintain all of these and keep our roads in a safe condition," he said.

“We know our roads aren’t in the best condition, but we’re committed to doing everything we can with the resources we have to improve the situation.

“In February’s budget, we agreed to invest an additional £3.5m to maintain the Kingdom’s roads this year which we know is seen as a priority by people.

“Since January this year, we’ve already spent over £1.1 million on major resurfacing improvements and before the end of the year, we will spend another £6 million.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our roads & transportation resurfacing team and repair crews who work extremely hard to maintain our roads.

"I’d also like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while we work through the road resurfacing programme.”
