WORK on a new cafe and soft play facility in Dunfermline city centre has been completed with an opening date set.

Zac's Cafe, in Viewfield Baptist Church, will host an official launch ceremony on Friday at 3.30pm to be attended by Dunfermline Athletic players, before opening its doors to the public next month.

Around £80,000 has been invested into the venture which, it's hoped, will be popular with West Fife parents looking for somewhere to take their youngsters.

Pete Hutchison, from the church's leadership team, told the Press back in January that plans had been progressing.

He said: "It is a soft play facility over three levels and then there's a sensory facility built in as well."

The facility will be open three days a week, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 10am until 4pm, and Fridays, between 10am and 5.30pm.

There will be soft play, a sensory room and a community cafe, with private bookings available on Saturday mornings.

Around £30,000 to go towards the project was received in grants while the rest was raised by the church itself.

Zac's Cafe will open to the public on Wednesday, May 10.
