A DUNFERMLINE homeowner has hit out at a developer after constant issues since he and his family moved into their brand new home.

Robert Flannigan moved into the property in Bellway's Carnegie View development four months ago and has since had over 200 issues which have needed to be rectified.

Along with snagging in his own house, he said mess had been left by builders around the site however said much of this was tidied up last weekend after he had contacted the Press.

He said many of his neighbours have had issues mirroring his own and has been left frustrated that the dream house move had come with so many problems.

"Bellway are failing customers at the Carnegie View site," he said. "Leaving a trail of rubbish, rubble and poor drainage behind in their wake for profit.

"Since we moved in it has been one thing after another.

"We have got over 200 snags. We have had multiple leaks. Radiators falling off the wall. We moved house because we needed the space for the kids. We got a generous big garden which has the worst drainage.

"We have gone through the full complaints procedure."

Robert feared the site would be left with abandoned material around common areas. However, he acknowledged some of that has been cleared in recent days.

"They (Bellway) had just left it. I went out the other day and there were pipes in bin bags, some tiles, some roof tiles, metal iron rods sticking out of the ground. Fencing lying everywhere. They said they are going to use all that stuff again."

A spokesperson for Bellway Homes said they were working to address issues raised.

"All new Bellway homes come with the benefit of a 10-year NHBC Buildmark Warranty, of which, the first two years are covered by Bellway for any defects within the home," they stated.

"Following completion on the property, Mr Flannigan reported defects and we have been in regular weekly contact and arranged visits to his home, and we continue to address the remaining items.

"Our construction team remain present on site and are responsible for addressing any issues in properties before handing over to our Customer Care Department.

"The team is finishing on site and the remaining landscaping works are being undertaken to complete the site."
