A McLEAN Primary School pupil has marked her place in the final of a national competition.
Isla Irvine, 10, entered Children 1st's Design A Bookmark contest at school and made it through to the final four shortlisted designs.
Voting for the winner closes tomorrow (Friday). The successful artist will see their design made into a real bookmark and scoop a Children 1st goody bag and a selection of books.
Proud mum Fiona Gallagher was delighted with her daughter's efforts.
"The two primary six classes at McLean entered the competition and she is down to the last four," she explained. "The other kids are from different areas I think.
"She was so excited when she came out to tell me last week. She keeps asking how the voting is going."
"She loves art and reading. She has always been quite artistic and she loves books."
Voting is taking place on the Children 1st Facebook page and anyone wanting to vote for Isla can do so by commenting with her name under the contest's post.
