A DOUBLE-BILL of lectures celebrating the work of one of Dunfermline's most famous artists are to be delivered at Fire Station Creative.

Dr Allan Lennie and Emily Learmont will be speaking on Sir Joseph Noël Paton’s acclaimed work The Quarrel Of Oberon and Titania, painted in Dunfermline in 1849 at Wooers' Alley.

The image now hangs in the Scottish National Galleries in Edinburgh, where Dr Lennie, a Paton family member, worked for many years.

He has written several papers on the work of Sir Joseph Noël Paton and his sister Amelia Robertson Hill, a pre-eminent sculptor.

Ms Learmont is a Teaching Fellow at the University of Edinburgh Centre for Open Learning and an arts educator at the National Galleries of Scotland, The Royal Collection Trust and Art in Healthcare.

She will be focussing on the painting itself while Dr Lennie will be talking about the context.

The event is on May 14 from 6pm.
