TWO of Athletic's title-winning stars have confirmed that they will be leaving the club this summer.

Forwards Nikolay Todorov and Kevin O'Hara are set to depart this summer, with their contracts set to expire, after helping them to League One glory.

Following yesterday's final day victory at Alloa Athletic, both players took to social media to confirm that they will exit KDM Group East End Park.

Todorov, who came on as a substitute against the Wasps, appeared to be visibly emotional as he applauded supporters following Dunfermline's 2-0 win at the Indodrill Stadium.

The Bulgarian, 26, arrived in the summer of 2021 after leaving Inverness Caledonian Thistle, and scored 11 times in 38 appearances, in all competitions, this season.

In a social media post, he wrote: "Another amazing season done! I have created some great memories and met some wonderful people.

"My time at Dunfermline Athletic FC has came to an end. I would like to thank all the Pars fans as they have showed incredible support to me and my family through good and bad moments.

"Another special thank you to all my teammates and the staff that works tirelessly behind the scenes for our succsess!

"Always in my heart, good luck!"

In total, Todorov netted 17 times in 65 appearances for the Pars, scoring valuable late winners against Montrose, and at Airdrieonians, when Dunfermline recovered from three goals down, on their march to the title.

Also departing at the end of his contract is O'Hara, who was signed for the club by Stevie Crawford in the summer of 2020 from Alloa.

The former Falkirk player, 24, scored 11 goals in 33 games during his first season, and went on to net 23 across 97 appearances.

This season, however, he has only found the net three times - the last of which came in the 5-0 win over Queen of the South that clinched the title - having missed around three months of the season with a knee injury.

He also missed Athletic's final two games of the campaign after being red-carded at Airdrieonians, a decision the club appealed but without success.

On his social media, O'Hara wrote: "A massive thank you to @officialdafc. A great three years at the club and what a way to finish it off by winning a league title.

"Just like to wish the manager, all the staff, the players and all the fans all the best for the future. Can’t wait for next seasons new challenge."

Of the existing squad, loan players Ewan Otoo, Chris Mochrie, Kane Ritchie-Hosler, Robbie Mahon and Paul McGowan are scheduled to return to their parent clubs, whilst the contracts of goalkeeper, Deniz Mehmet, and defenders Aaron Comrie and Kyle MacDonald, are also up for renewal this summer.
