A 33-year-old man plagued his elderly grandmother in Aberdour with unwanted visits.

Jordan Rennie would turn up at her home like the proverbial bad penny trying to leech money from her.

Rennie, of Duddingston Crescent, Edinburgh, appeared from custody by video-link at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that between August 21 last year and March 26 in Aberdour, he engaged in a course of conduct towards his 84-year-old grandmother, which caused her fear or alarm.

He repeatedly attended at her home uninvited, loitered there and demanded money from her, all in the knowledge that such communication was unwanted.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf told the court how Rennie would repeatedly turn up at his gran’s home asking for money.

She would sometimes just give him the cash so that he would go away.

On one occasion he turned up at her door asking for £200.

Defence solicitor Shona Westwood said: “He didn’t fully appreciate that his gran didn’t want him at the property. He regrets that he caused her fear and alarm.”

Sheriff Craig McSherry imposed a community payback order with 180 hours of unpaid work.
