DUNFERMLINE woman Vijaya Kunaparaju is back on TV tonight (Wednesday) having successfully made it through her heat in the BBC show MasterChef.
Vijaya, 37, appeared on the popular cooking contest on Monday night and impressed judges with her authentic Indian food, becoming one of the seven home cooks to make it through to the next stage.
The IT consultant, whose first memory of cooking was guessing the spices by their smell in her mother's kitchen, is "thrilled" to be in the competition.
"MasterChef is one of best platforms to showcase the dishes that are close to your heart," she said. "I want to challenge myself to push the boundaries with food and my own cooking. It was in my bucket list for a long time and I am so thrilled to be taking part."
On Monday's show she served up a gorgeous butter chicken curry, rice with pomegranate, cashew nut and curry leaves, spiced potatoes in rice cracker and curry bread; and then went on to cook up a vegetarian Thali platter for the judges with various delicious elements to it.
Her cooking certainly impressed the judges and she successfully grabbed herself a spot in the next round.
Tonight, she will be competing for one of four places in the quarter final, as she bids to convince John and Gregg that she has what it takes to be MasterChef Champion 2023.
Find out how she gets on by tuning at 8pm on BBC One.
