An Inverkeithing man was caught driving when intoxicated and then spat in the face of a police officer.
As a result, George Dewar, 38, of Back o’ Yards, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on August 25, 2021, on a road off Primrose Lane, Rosyth, he drove a car when unfit to do so through drink or drugs.
He then assaulted a police officer by spitting on his face.
Sheriff Charles Macnair fined Dewar £580 and banned him from driving for 12 months.
He also imposed a community payback order with 300 hours of unpaid work, two years of supervision and £750 compensation to the officer.
