THE much anticipated Rosyth Gala will be returning to the town's Public Park on Saturday.

Thousands of people are expected to turn out for the big day with stalls, food trucks, live entertainment and kid friendly activities on offer from noon until 5pm.

One of the gala organisers, Stephen Lynas, told the Press: "It was a well attended event last year and we’re hoping that we see the same turn out this year.

“The bookings have been pretty good; I think we’ve had over 1400 preregistration bookings already and there will be more who will rock up on the day.

Volunteers have worked hard to put on a spectacular line up for gala goers, kids will be able to enjoy facepainting, funfair rides from Stirling's Family Funfairs, pony rides and inflatables.

For those who may have outgrown the bouncy house, live shows from the likes of the Rosyth Military Wives Choir, Astral Circus, Robertson Dance Academy, the Bay Players and more will be sure to keep everyone entertained.

He continued: "People can expect lots and lots of exciting activities and fun.”

This year’s gala cost a whopping £28,000 to put on. A lot of time, time money and thought went in to planning this community event.

“A decent chunk of that has come from grants and local business sponsorship,” Stephen said, “but it also does rely on people coming out and buying wristbands to make it sustainable.”

Gala wristbands are still available for purchase for £10 online or on the day and will give access to designated face painters, glitter tattoos, glitter hair, pony rides, all entertainment provided by Bedlam Promotions across Zones one and two, three turns on a small funfair ride, the zip wire, three bungee runs and two climbing walls.

While preparations are well underway, volunteers are still needed tomorrow (Friday) to help set up and on Saturday itself to make sure everything runs smoothly
