A ROSYTH man was abusive towards his partner over a six-month period.

As a result, James Codd, 27, of Parkgate, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.

He admitted that between August 1, 2021 and February 5, 2022, at Mey Court, Dunfermline and elsewhere, he was engaged in an abusive course of conduct towards his then partner.

He shouted at her, used abusive language, pushed her and threw a bottle at her.

Depute fiscal Amy Robertson said on one occasion Codd started shouting at his partner, who had been out with friends the night before.

He called her a “slut” and said she was having a shower because she had slept with someone.

He pushed her against a wall with both hands on her shoulders. He then threw a bottle of wine towards her and it smashed on the floor.

In a later incident, Codd became aggressive about her getting a text message from another man.

On both these occasions the police were contacted.

Sheriff Francis Gill imposed a community payback order with 12 months of supervision, alcohol counselling and 80 hours of unpaid work.

He also imposed a non-harassment order for two years.
