A Dunfermline man exposed himself to two women and a young girl.

Kenneth Grindlay, who has history of causing alarm to strangers with his behaviour, appeared back in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

Grindlay 38, of Mackie Place, admitted that between 1st October and 16th November last year at Dalcross Way, Dunfermline, he shouted at and followed two females.

On another occasion, he approached a car containing the same two females as well as a 12-year-old girl, pulled down his trousers and exposed his genitals to them.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said in the first incident a woman and her daughter were out walking at around 8pm when they saw Grindlay, a complete stranger, who started shouting and gesticulating at them.

They walked away but he started following them and they ended up running away from him.

On 16th November the same ladies were in a car with a 12-year-old child when they saw Grindlay.

He approached their vehicle and they became alarmed, telling the young girl to look away as they felt Grindlay was going to expose himself.

They were right and he did expose himself, although the Crown decided that there was “not a significant sexual element” to the crime. That meant Grindlay has not been put on the sex offenders’ register.

Defence solicitor Aime Allan said, “He was under the influence at the time and has a limited recollection. He has a history of drink and substance misuse.”

Sheriff Andrew Berry said it was “difficult to know what to do” as Grindlay has a history of failing to comply with court orders.

He deferred sentence for good behaviour until 22nd November.
