MUSICAL former pupils of St Columba’s High are being asked to get in tune with their old school for a special concert.

Preparations are underway for an end of year performance and it is hoped some guests will join in the showcase as part of the celebrations to mark its 100th birthday.

Music teacher Lauren Duffy explained: “It is a shout out for former pupils – an open invite for ex pupils who are involved professionally with music to come and take part.

“We don’t have connections in terms of even knowing who will be out there.

“It would be good to have an idea of who is in the industry and who has gone on to work in music from school.

“This will probably be one of our last concerts we have in the building as we are due to move to the new school next August.”

Ms Duffy said the event will show off the talent of pupils currently at the school.

“It is an end of year showcase,” she added. “We will be having something from the wind band, the staff band, there will be percussion groups. It will celebrate the learning that has happened over the course of the year.

“It will be mostly about the kids but hopefully we are going to invite former pupils as part of the 100 year celebrations.”
