A NEW attraction at Fife Zoo has come in the form of a 7ft tall brown bear - courtesy of Dunfermline Athletic.

The club's larger-than-life mascot, Sammy the Tammy, visited the attraction to celebrate a new partnership for the 2023/24 season.

Members of the 'Young Pars' supporters club will receive a free ticket to the zoo in Ladybank as part of a renewed benefit programme for fans.

Having been crowned League One title winners, the Pars have secured promotion to the Scottish Championship, and it's hoped this deal will give young supporters even more to celebrate.

Mike Knight, Fife Zoo Director, said: "We’re always looking for new opportunities to secure collaborations and partnerships with businesses across Fife and we were delighted to welcome Sammy the Tammy to the zoo to launch our new partnership with Dunfermline Athletic FC’s official children’s fan club.

"We’re optimistic that the club can have another fantastic season and we’d certainly be willing to welcome Sammy and his army of young Tammy’s back to the zoo for further celebrations at the end of next season."

Fife Zoo is home to animals such as endangered Grevy’s zebra, meerkats and lemurs and is currently expanding as part of a "ten-year master plan".
