ARMED POLICE carried out a search for a man in possession of a weapon in the Abbeyview area of Dunfermline last night (Thursday).
Officers received a report of a man carrying a weapon late on Thursday night, but despite carrying out a search of a flat and its surrounding area, no one was found.
A Police spokeswoman said: "Around 9.25pm on Thursday, June 1, police received a report of a man in possession of a weapon, not a firearm, in Abbeyview, Dunfermline.
"Officers attended and conducted a search of a flat and the surrounding area with no one being found. Enquiries are ongoing."
