A MAN was treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Dunfermline city centre.

Emergency services were called to Chalmers Street just after 10pm to deal with the blaze.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 10.03pm on Wednesday, June 7 to reports of a dwelling fire at Chalmers Street, Dunfermline.

"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene to extinguish a fire affecting a communal area.

"One male was treated for smoke inhalation by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

"Crews ventilated the affected area and left after making the area safe."
