AFTER setting up a Facebook group to try to keep people active during lockdown, Kelty personal trainer Robyn Drummond had no idea what was to come next.

Three years on, Robyn has received the title of Young Businesswoman of the Year and beaten off stiff competition to scoop the Dunfermline Press/Central Fife Times Community Champion's Entrepreneurial Award for 2023.

Robyn – who moved from Glasgow to Kelty 10 years ago – started Robyn Drummond Fitness at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and her membership grew rapidly as the year progressed.

She has now helped thousands of women across Fife with their health and fitness goals.

Supported by her best friend, and admin assistant, Lindsay, she won the title of Fife's Best Fitness Business last year and, earlier this year, attended the Women's Business Club conference in Edinburgh where she was named Young Businesswoman of the Year.

After leaving school with no qualifications, she went to Fife College and did a business course and has since done a Bachelor's Degree in Sport, Fitness and Coaching and earned her personal trainer qualifications as well.

Robyn was stunned to receive her latest title at Thursday's awards ceremony.

"I was so surprised – especially as Dhoom is such a fantastic restaurant," she said. "The funny thing is, I don't know who nominated me – I have no idea. What they have written was so lovely though. I am so shocked.

"Myself and my friend just created a free Facebook group to keep people busy and active. I cannot believe three years later, I have my own business and am launching my own health and fitness app. I am really, really shocked."
