WORK to create a new Stephens drive thru at Halbeath is making progress.

Shop fitters are due to start at the store next week, while the hiring process is also underway for retail assistants and assistant managers.

The new outlet will be on the site of the former Hotel Roma after it had lain empty on Main Street for 15 years.

The derelict eyesore was torn down in January to make way for the drive-thru, which is expected to create around 20 jobs.

Talia Sarafilovic, joint managing director, told the Press that construction is "going well".

She said: “We’re delighted to be starting the hiring process for our drive thru up at Halbeath.

"We take great pride in providing outstanding customer service and offering a welcoming environment for everyone who visits us, and as we expand our team, we are seeking individuals who are eager to be part of this ethos.

"Construction of the drive thru is going well, the shop fitters start on Monday and we can’t wait to welcome new and loyal customers in the near future."

Opportunities are now available for retail assistants seeking between 17- and 26-hour contracts as well as assistant managers.

The positions are not suitable for those in full-time education as mid-week availability is required.
