A Saline woman struck her ex-partner in the face with a glass during a pub argument.

Sophie Williams was trying to throw the contents over her ‘ex’ but the glass hit his face causing a cut.

Williams, 23, of Rev Downie Wynd, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

She admitted that on February 19 last year at Wetherspoons, High Street, Dunfermline, she assaulted her former partner by shouting, swearing and throwing liquid within a glass, causing the liquid and the glass to strike him on the head, to his injury.

Depute fiscal Amy Robertson said the couple had been in a relationship for five years but had split up a year before the incident.

They had both been out with friends in local pubs and came across each other.

Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said: “This seems to have been an isolated, one-off incident and she’s remorseful.”

Sheriff Charles Lugton deferred sentence for good behaviour until November 22.
