A FOUR vehicle crash closed the A92 in Fife this morning (Tuesday).
The northbound carriageway of the road was closed near Kirkcaldy between Chapel and the Redhouse Roundabout.
It has now reopened.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed that the crash involved four vehicles and that crews extricated one casualty.
A further three were within the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Three fire appliances were mobilised to the scene as well as specialist resources.
A SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 8.01am on Tuesday, 15 August to reports of a road traffic collision involving four vehicles on the A92, near Thornton Road, Kirkcaldy.
"Operations control mobilised three fire appliances and specialist resources to the scene, where firefighters extricated one casualty from their vehicle.
"Three further casualties were within the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
"Crews left at 9.17am once ensuring the area had been made safe."
Traffic is slowing on approach with Traffic Scotland announcing a 10 minute delay earlier this morning (Tuesday).
Emergency services have been called to the scene.
It is not known if anyone has been injured.
