A 55-year-old cleaner groped a woman at Dunfermline bus depot.
Stephen Lyon, of Dalbeath Gardens, Hill of Beath, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court. He admitted that on July 22 at the depot at St Leonards, he sexually assaulted a woman by seizing her by the buttock and squeezing it.
The court was told Lyon worked as a cleaner at the depot but has now lost that job. The woman was known to Lyon and her husband was close by when the incident occurred the court heard.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said Lyon later told police his actions were “all meant as a joke” and “it wasn’t sexual”.
The woman was left upset by the incident, she added.
Defence solicitor Jaclyn Robertson said her client had lost his job as a result of the incident.
“He’s written a letter of apology to the woman,” she added.
Sheriff Robert More called for reports and Lyon was put on the sex offenders register ahead of sentencing on September 20.
