FIFE parents, carers and young people are being invited to take part in a free online event aiming to help understand the support in place to help apprentices with additional support needs.

The Scottish Apprenticeships and Additional Support Needs webinar will take place on Thursday, September 7 from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Microsoft Teams.

Organised by Scotland’s skills agency, Skills Development Scotland, the event enables people to hear from those who support apprentices in training and in work to ensure they achieve and succeed.

Attendees can also listen to apprentices and parents share their experiences of the help provided to meet additional support needs on an apprenticeship.

Examples and information during the webinar will cover Foundation, Modern and Graduate Apprenticeships.

Foundation Apprenticeships are taken as a subject at secondary school, with time spent out of the classroom with a learning provider and an employer to gain an industry recognised qualification.

Modern and Graduate Apprenticeships offer people the chance to work, earn and learn to gain skills, experience and qualifications.

To support accessibility, the webinar session will be recorded and British Sign Language translation available.

Anyone wanting to register can do so on Eventbrite at www.bit.ly/apprenticeshipseventASN.

In order to access the session, attendees will need to download the free of charge Microsoft Teams app on their device in advance.
