The Asda store at Halbeath reopened this afternoon (Sunday, August 27) after being closed following an incident yesterday evening which resulted in a man being taken to hospital.

Emergency services were called shortly after 7pm after an incident in the store, and customers were told to evacuate the premises.

Police and the ambulance service attended, with police confirming that a man had been taken to hospital following the incident.

The 24-hour store remained closed overnight and this morning, before reopening in the early afternoon.

Police Scotland spokesperson said that officers were called following a report of concern for a person at premises on Halbeath Retail Park.

The spokesperson added: “Emergency services attended and a man was taken by ambulance to hospital.”
