A LITTLE girl who was killed on a road in Townhill when she was just three years old is being remembered at a family fun day in the village.

Robyn Knox, from Cardenden, was struck by a car in August 2020 and her family have since raised money to help others whose children are unwell or have passed away.

The event, Robs in the Park, will be held in Townhill Country Park on Saturday, September 2.

Annilie Muller, who helps to organise the day alongside Robyn's mum, Danielle Falconer, said: "Robyn will always be remembered but for us it’s a day where families can come and have a day together.

"Seeing so many people want to come is always humbling but also makes the hard work worth it.

"Everyone is there not only for a fab day but also to remember our girl.

"My favourite part of the day is seeing so many kids having fun in Robyn’s memory.

"It’s always nice to see so many people wearing Remembering Robyn t-shirts coming out to support us.

"It’s important because it’s a way of giving back to people who may need it.

"We wouldn’t have it any other way."

The fun day will also mark the end to a month of sponsored walking in memory of Robyn.

Adults involved were challenged to walk, run, or cycle 100 miles over the course of August, while kids completed 50 miles.

Everyone taking part will complete their goal at Townhill Park at the start of the Robs in the Park event.

Annilie said: "Miles for smiles this year has been outstanding. The amount of people who have joined us this year has been more than ever before.

"We are awaiting the total miles this week to see where in the world we got Robyn to this year. There has been a lot of interest this year which is overwhelming.

"We got so much great feedback from last year. I think everyone is really looking forward to it again this year."

All money raised will go towards "helping hand boxes" which will be given to hospitals for families in need of extra support. They could have recently lost a child or have a child in long term care. Items will include things which would have benefited Robyn's family.

Robs in the Park will be held this Saturday from 12pm until 4pm.

There will be a variety of activities on offer including bouncy castles, horse rides, face painting, emergency service visits, singers and food stalls.
