COMMERCIAL Primary youngsters have launched a protest against poo and are urging dog owners to clean up after their pets.

The pupils – and staff – are fed up of careless owners allowing their dogs to foul on school grounds and produced a series of posters which they hope will help combat the problem.

Headteacher Lindsay Strang explained: "Because we are a public right of way, we can have members of the public coming through which is not a problem as long as they treat the grounds respectfully.

"We have such big grounds our janitor cannot find it all the time so the children report it and it has to be dealt with.

"We are dog lovers – we have therapets come in, we are not anti-dog, we just want people to clean up after their dogs."
