A MAN was taken to hospital after a crash near Limekilns on Saturday.
Emergency services raced to the three-car collision on the A985 at the junction with Dunfermline Road at around 6.05pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called to a three-vehicle crash on Dunfermline Road around 6.05pm on Saturday. A man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and enquiries are ongoing."
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: "We were called to assist emergency service partners at a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on Dunfermline Road on Saturday, September 23 at 6pm.
"Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene to assist in making the area safe."
The road was closed for several hours as emergency crews dealt with the incident with Traffic Scotland confirming on Twitter at 4.15am on Sunday that the A985 route had reopened.
