KELTY is set to be home to a "global" television channel.

Signs for 'The Blairadam Television Studios' have appeared at the site of the former Baxters restaurant and shop on the outskirts of the village.

Gerry Boyle, from the Burlington Group who are behind the plans, confirmed their intentions for the site.

Dunfermline Press:

"I can confirm that the premises in Kelty will be the location for production of The Burlington Channel, our online viewing platform here at Burlington Television," he said.

"Along with our UK and US based partners, we will be broadcasting online to a global viewing audience and, featuring a host of new and original content each week, including Concert TV and The Chamber, our legal-advice TV series."

Promotion material for the channel indicates it is "coming soon" with Burlington Television offering "a brand new platform bringing you the best content."

The site was previously earmarked for a McDonalds drive-thru and petrol station however Fife Council rejected what they said were "unacceptable" plans in November last year.

An appeal by the applicants, land owner Ian Maclellan and TG Convenience Stores Ltd, was lodged with the Scottish Government, however this was thrown out in May.
