A Rosyth man ignored a non-harassment order and met up with a woman in a local pub.

Police received a call about the matter and were told it was not the first such meeting.

Christopher Jones, 50, of McGrigor Road, appeared back in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that having been put on a non-harassment order he breached it on September 2 at the Hillpark Hotel (formerly the Gladyer Inn), Heath Street, Rosyth, when he was with a woman having been ordered not be.

Defence solicitor Elaine Buist said her client’s position was it was “a chance meeting”.

However, Sheriff Francis Gill pointed out that the information received by the police was that it was not a one-off meeting in the pub.

The sheriff imposed a community payback order with 120 hours of unpaid work.
