Dunfermline post punk band T-A launched their new track ‘Sweeter’ on Monday ahead of a homecoming gig at PJ Molloys this Saturday.

This is the first time that the band, who have been described as “Black Rebel meets Billy Idol”, have headlined the venue with each of them playing there before as teenagers.

T-A consist of lead vocalist Sean Sneddon on bass, lead guitarist Ben Curling, drummer Ben Robertson, and Sophie De Rose who brings vocals, keys, guitar, and the harmonica to the four-piece.

The band first formed in Summer 2020 and have had various line-ups. This iteration has been together since last November.

On the new single, Sean said: “We’re very excited about the addition of a new feature in this track that has never been produced by the band before. We are stretching out as a band and hopefully this single will display our influences throughout music.”

The new feature on the track comes in the form of a violin being played throughout by Alfie Ramage, of fellow Dunfermline band Jupiter Strange. The song focuses on temptation and is written from the perspective of someone almost committing an act of infidelity.

The PJs headline show won’t be their first time in front of a big crowd, having previously featured at sold out dates at PJs, Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh, and Broadcast in Glasgow whilst supporting Dunfermline-based band Sunstinger.

The band will be supported at PJs by Jupiter Strange, as well as Midnight Alleys from Dundee.

Sophie said: “The music scene in Dunfermline has so much exciting and up-and-coming talent, and we are all grateful to have been nurtured within it from our adolescence.”

T-A have previously received praise for past singles, with 'Far Away' being named as Vic Galloways single of the week, and 'Proud Again' featuring on BBC Introducing.

Doors open at PJs for Saturday's gig at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased online.
