A WEST Fife school has raised over £3,000 for charity after a much-loved member of staff was diagnosed with two Stage Four brain tumours.

Torryburn Primary nursery worker Kim McDougall received the devastating diagnosis in the summer and is now bravely undergoing intensive treatment.

A Big Bake Sale, as well as a dress down day and a justgiving page set up by Torryburn and Culross primaries has already raised £3,290 for the Brain Tumour Charity to raise awareness of the condition and help the charity's work.

Dunfermline Press:

Headteacher Claire Wyatt explained: "Together, we are working to raise awareness in our school community and beyond of brain tumours and more importantly the ground-breaking work into new treatments through The Brain Tumour Charity.

"Kim’s positive mindset and mantra of loving each day in the moment and making memories with her loved ones is inspirational. She keeps her family and friends positive and indeed through her legendary tablet making, for which she is well known, continues to bring in more funds for The Brain Tumour Charity.

"The money raised so far is testament to the strength of love and support the families and staff have towards Kim.

"She has worked in Torryburn nursery for 24 years and, in that time, has seen children of the children she once worked with come through the doors of Torryburn nursery.

"Kim’s family and friends also plan to take part in more fundraising in the next few months by taking part in the Alloa half marathon in March 2024."
