THE Dunfermline Soul Club have raised over £1,000 for Centre Stage Performing Arts with their latest charity Soul Night.

A sell-out crowd gathered at the British Legion Club to enjoy a night of Soul music and good company while they raised money for a worthy cause.

Ian Parker, who organises the Soul Night events, told the Press: "The money realized was a total of £1320 which was handed over to Centre Stage Performing Arts, which will go towards sending 19 young dancers to Disneyland Paris to dance in the parade and on stage next March.

"This was the first time Dunfermline Soul Club had used the British Legion as a venue, but judging by the reaction from those who attended, it won't be the last time, as the intimate surroundings created an ideal platform for a great night."

The school offers children aged between 3 and 18 the opportunity to express themselves and build confidence through ballet, jazz, lyrical, acro, tap, musical theatre, commercial and highland dancing across their three local bases in Crossgates, Kelty and Rosyth.

Ian presented some of the parents of the children with the cheque and they were over the moon with the amount raised.

He continued: "They were truly overwhelmed at the money raised on the night and would like to pass on their thanks to all soul club members."
