Top jazz and swing outfit Rose Room are set to bring some festive cheer to Dunfermline on Sunday, December 10.

They are leading exponents of the kind of gypsy jazz made famous by guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli in their pioneering Hot Club de Paris quintet of the 1930s.

Voted ‘Best Band’ twice at the Scottish Jazz Awards, Rose Room are led by virtuoso violinist, Scottish Jazz award-winning vocalist and BBC broadcaster Seonaid Aitken.

Seonaid is joined on bass by Jimmy Moon, with Conor Smith on solo guitar and Tam Gallagher on rhythm guitar.

They serve up ‘Hot Club’ standards, gypsy jazz favourites and self-penned originals with flair and foot-tapping fun, recreating the excitement of 1930s Paris. Numbers such as I Found A New Baby, Lady Be Good and Avalon will be instantly recognisable to many.

This Live Music on Sundays concert takes place at the earlier than usual time of 3pm. The venue is Viewfield Baptist Church in East Port, Dunfermline.

Tickets (£15/£2) and further information are available at dunfermlinemusic.org or you can pay at the door.
