HUNDREDS of toys have been delivered to a Fife charity to help provide some Christmas cheer for local families.

The gifts, from Amazon, were all from the online retailer's Top Ten Toys for Christmas and have been handed to the ‘The Big Hoose Fife project’ via Fife-based charity, The Cottage Family Centre.

Founded by former Prime Minister and Dunfermline MP Gordon Brown and Amazon, The Multibank initiative was created last year to meet the needs of families and individuals living in poverty.

It operates as a “click and collect” service for over 1,000 local charities and professionals to access surplus goods for people in need.

The toys were delivered on the back of a giant toy truck, which arrived at The Big Hoose Fife Project via The Cottage Family Centre, to the delight of staff and locals.

The toys will now be distributed to children of all ages via local support workers in time for Christmas.

Pauline Buchan, Strategic Manager at The Cottage Family Centre, said: “We see first-hand the hardship which children and families in our community face on a daily basis, but since opening the first Multibank in Scotland we have been able to extend a lifeline and offer care to those who need it most.

Dunfermline Press:

"Now, with the continued support of Amazon, we can help to bring a smile to the faces of our little ones by donating some of this year’s must-have toys alongside our Christmas appeal this year.”

Toys that have been donated to local families in need include the likes of Barbie, Furby, Pokémon, and LEGO Star Wars, which all feature on Amazon’s list of Top Ten Toys for Christmas 2023.
