THREE people were checked for smoke inhalation after an early morning fire in Dunfermline.

Emergency services rushed to Adamson Crescent shortly before 5am this morning after reports of a front door being on fire.

Police say they are treating the incident as "suspicious" and their investigations are ongoing.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 4.49am on Tuesday, 19 December to reports of a dwelling fire on Adamson Crescent, Dunfermline.

"Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances to the scene, where firefighters extinguished a fire at the front door of the property.

“Three casualties received precautionary checks from the Scottish Ambulance Service for slight smoke inhalation.

"Crews left the scene at 5.33am after ensuring the area was safe."

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “Around 4.45am on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, police were called to the Adamson Crescent area of Dunfermline, following a report of the front door of a property being on fire.

"The fire was extinguished by SFRS and is being treated as suspicious.

"There were no reported injuries and enquiries are ongoing.”
