EFFORTS to trace a man who made off from police have been taking place in Dunfermline.

A Police presence has been spotted in the Halbeath and Duloch Woods area this morning (Friday) and Police Scotland say the activity is part of an ongoing enquiry.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers are currently in the Halbeath area of Dunfermline conducting enquiries to trace a man in connection with an ongoing enquiry.

“At around 8.20am on Friday, January 5, 2024 a report was received that three men wanted in connection with an ongoing investigation were in the Whimbrel Place area.

“Two men have been arrested and enquiries are ongoing to trace the third, who made off from police.

“A vehicle has also been recovered at the scene and enquiries remain ongoing.”
