A DUNFERMLINE pub is thriving and enjoyed a record-breaking week over the festive period after undergoing a six-figure refurbishment.

The Seven Kings on Bridge Street was kitted out with new decor, comfortable furnishing, a new layout complete with a prosecco table, an upgraded bar and more last summer.

Since reopening in July, Seven Kings say that their customers are loving their new look.

Amanda Gerlach, general manager of the Greene King-owned pub, said: “Since our exciting six-figure investment last year the pub has continued to thrive, and our guests love the changes that we’ve carried out to the inside areas as well as the outdoor areas.

“One of our main focuses when reopening was ensuring that we have the right team members in place allowing us to offer our guests the best experience possible when visiting.

"The atmosphere is really what keeps people coming back week after week and we’ve seen more regulars returning, which I think is a real testament to our team members.

“Throughout December we saw one of the busiest days we’ve ever had in the pub and our final week of the year was record-breaking with guests coming in to enjoy the festive season.

"Our festive bookings were up from last year and we also saw a lot of return customers who’d enjoyed themselves so much they came back for another evening with us.”

After a successful reopening with a range of new entertainment and family fun on offer and a busy festive period, the signs are positive for 2024.

Amanda added: “Looking forward to this year we have the upcoming Six Nations Rugby tournament in a few weeks, which we know will be extremely popular and sports plays an important role in our pub.

“We’re also a huge supporter of Dunfermline Football Club, who we sponsored following their promotion to the Championship.

"Last year we hosted a family fun day with visits from the players and a breakfast with their mascot Sammy the Tammy. Watch this space for more activity with Dunfermline Athletic Football Club.

“And we've recently introduced live entertainment over the festive period with a DJ and a Day with Elvis, which has proved so popular we’re planning on making this a regular thing from February. Keep an eye on our social media channels for upcoming events.

“The refurbishment has really revived the atmosphere in the pub and although we were a very busy pub before, our new and improved layout and offering have meant we’ve seen more people than ever come through our doors."
