A DUNFERMLINE man has appeared on this week's episode of First Dates.

Conor Boyle, who shot to social media stardom for his Tesco tannoy announcement videos, appeared on the much-loved Channel 4 dating show on Tuesday,  meeting up with Adam, a bagpipe instructor from Edinburgh.

He told the Press: "It was an absolute blast to be on the show.

"I've always been such a big fan of it so to be able to go to the first dates restaurant, I was absolutely buzzing, to be honest with you. It was honestly the best experience I’ve ever had."

From being able to experience the First Dates restaurant in person, meeting the nation's favourite French maître d', Fred Sirieix, and getting the opportunity to make a love connection with fellow Scot, Conor was lucky enough to experience all the best bits of one of his favourite shows.

Speaking on his experience, he said: "It’s very strange when you watch yourself on TV. You watch yourself walk into the restaurant and I don’t know how to explain it other than, you walk in, you watch yourself and you pick up on wee mannerisms that you do.

"I didn’t realise but a lot of people have noticed that anytime someone is talking, for some reason, I just take a drink of my pint! I hadn’t noticed it but it doesn't look the best on me.

"It’s very strange watching things back because you don't realise all the things you do, especially how clumsy I was."

Despite feeling confident before the show, Conor said that the nerves hit when he sat down with his date.

"I was very nervous," he admitted. "Before I went into the restaurant I was like ‘I’ll be absolutely fine’ and I walked into the restaurant, I met Fred, he was absolutely lovely and I was nice and calm.

"I went and sat next to Adam and as soon as I sat down I was like ‘Oh my god’.

"Instantly, every line that I had rehearsed in my head that I was going to say went completely out and I had no clue what to say.

"It’s very nerve-wracking, especially when it’s going to be televised."

Even though he was nervous, Conor didn't let that stop him from pulling a few laughs out of first date Adam.

He said: "Watching it back on TV, I'll be honest I didn’t realise that I was that funny but I am actually quite funny!

"The bit where [Adam] speaks to Fred and he goes ‘How are you getting on?’ and Adam goes ‘Oh yeah I really like him, he’s funny’ I was like ’yas!’"

And he must have made an impression on the Edinburgh local as they immediately went off down the pub for date number two.

Conor added: "We’re trying to make sure that there’s no more stumbles and that we manage to see each other again. "
