A woodlands group is inviting people to get out and go for a walk in Valleyfield Woodland Park as part of the Scottish Snowdrop Festival.

The West Fife Woodlands Group is encouraging everyone to get to Valleyfield to see the woodland park’s trail of naturalised snowdrop displays and remnants of Scotland’s only designed landscape by landscape architect, Humphry Repton.

Walkers will be able to see two types of snowdrop and the remains of an estate created by Sir Robert Preston with contributions by Humphry Repton and David Douglas the 19th century explorer and plant collector.

Anyone going on the walk can get leaflets showing the route and the associated heritage trail from the departure point in the Shiresmill Therapy Riding Centre (RDA) car park.

The woods are open 24/7 and access to them is free.

Guided walks with an experienced guide will be provided at weekends starting at 2pm from February 3, until March 10. These guided walks last about 90 minutes. Teas and coffees will be available afterwards, and there is no charge for taking part.
