A TEENAGER has been charged after allegedly throwing a flare on to the pitch during a Scottish Championship league match between Greenock Morton and Dunfermline last year.

Reece Clay, 18, of Rosyth, is accused of culpably and recklessly throwing an incendiary device on to the field at Cappielow during a regulated match on November 3, which was broadcast live by BBC Scotland, and ended in a 2-1 win for the Pars.

Prosecutors say his alleged actions were to the danger of players, match officials and supporters.

The case has been continued without plea at Greenock Sheriff Court until March 22.
