A 27-year-old woman stole from three Dunfermline shops on the same day.
When caught and taken to the police station, Sarah Jackson assaulted a worker there.
Jackson, of Old Mill Lane, Oakley, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.
She admitted that on May 20 at Primark, High Street, Dunfermline, she stole clothing and cosmetics. She went on to steal similar items from Poundland and Bodycare, in the Kingsgate Centre.
Then at Dunfermline police station she assaulted a police worker by slapping him.
Sheriff Susan Duff imposed a community payback order with 100 hours of unpaid work.
