A REQUEST for permission to use a city centre flat as a holiday home has been turned down.
An application for a certificate of lawfulness to use a first floor flat at 103, High Street in Dunfermline as a short term let has been refused by Fife Council.
Planners said that the use of the property as a short-term let would result in a "substantial increase" in the number of individuals accessing the property and therefore have a potential significant impact on the amenity of the neighbouring properties.

They added: "It is therefore concluded by this planning authority that the use of the dwelling as a holiday let would constitute a material change of use in this instance, and is thus considered to be development."
The application was therefore refused because an application for full planning permission would be required.
