A five-day school holiday meal provision will now be provided in Rosyth after fears the town had been left without provision for much of the Easter break.

Local councillor Brian Goodall had expressed concerns that Cafe Inc would only be on for one day a week over the holidays however a rethink has now seen a u-turn.

He said the decision will mean vital support is provided to local families as the cost of living crisis continues.

“Fife Council Officers have taken on board my concerns about Cafe Inc. in Rosyth and they’ve worked hard to address the situation," said Cllr Goodall. "There is now going to be five day a week hot and cold lunch provision at Kings Road Primary for the two weeks of the Easter holidays.

"I’m over the moon about this rethink, but I still feel wee need to find a way to insure there’s always the highest possible level of provision to combat holiday hunger in Rosyth, without always having to launch a campaign to get local families the support they need before each school holiday.”

Fife Council's Community manager for South West Fife, Alastair Mutch, had previously confirmed they were exploring options and the availability of resources to deliver a five day hot food offer in Rosyth to enhance the Cafe Inc offer already in place for the Easter holidays.
