A teenage shoplifter targeted the M&S store in Dunfermline on two successive days.

As a result, 19-year-old John Cooper, of Tiree Place, Kirkcaldy, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on November 24, at Fire and Lighting Collectables, Mercat Shopping Centre, Kirkcaldy, he stole a quantity of games.

On December 27 at Boots, High Street, Kirkcaldy, he stole electrical items, and he returned to the same store on January 8 when he stole electrical items.

On January 24 at Marks and Spencer, High Street, Dunfermline, he stole steak and alcohol. He was back the next day at the same shop, when he stole steak and alcohol.

Sheriff Wylie Robertson imposed a community payback order with 120 hours of unpaid work and 20 months of supervision.

He also ordered Cooper to pay £895 compensation.
