A man who sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl while she was sleeping has landed himself in further trouble.

Paul Jankowski, 45, of Shawpark Avenue, Sauchie, appeared back in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted breaching the conditions of his court order by not informing his supervising officer that he had started a new relationship.

In October 2022, Jankowski, was sentenced at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He had admitted that on August 14, 2021 at High Valleyfield, he sexually assaulted a girl, then aged 16, whilst she was asleep and incapable of consenting.

Sheriff Susan Duff told Jankowski he had been “extremely fortunate” to avoid a jail sentence in the first place.

She added that his latest “gross breach of trust” also merited a prison term.

She noted that the supervisor was suspicious that Jankowski was in a new relationship but he had denied this.

However, she said a prison term would result in him losing his job and his home.

Instead, she allowed the original order to continue and added 150 hours of unpaid work.

Jankowski has also now been put on the sex offenders register for five years instead of three.
