A DUNFERMLINE Tenants and Residents Association (TRA) has reformed after disbanding due to the Covid pandemic.

The Dunfermline Broomhead TRA is now back and working harder than ever to better the reputation of the Broomhead flats and bring about a positive change in the area.

Councillor Auxi Barrera held her surgery at the Broomhead Community Flat last Friday and residents shared with her their concerns about the anti-social behaviour, drug consumption and alleged drug dealing within the flats.

She said: "It was great to see so many residents from the flats attending my surgery, sadly, their main concern is drug dealing and consumption within the blocks.

"Residents are very concerned that their children are being exposed to the reported drug use within the flats. Residents from Broomhead Flats would like to see more actions to be taken to ensure that this situation is resolved soon and continue with the positive community spirit that they are currently building."

Recently, the TRA has organised numerous events, including litter picks around the estate and an Easter egg hunt.

And they hope to continue to hold family-friendly events to build community spirit.

Cllr Barrera added: "I look forward to working with the community in positive projects and giving my support where I can in helping these families.

"This is a tight-knit and proud community that is working hard to change the reputation of Broomhead Flats and it's important that we all support them in making this a better place to live."
